Last march my neighbours boyfriend fell and broke his foot on my porch. The next day he calls me, tells me that he is going to be off work for a few months, asking for money. I tell him to get a lawyer and contact my insurance. He did.
Plaintiff claims:
a) General damages in the sum of $200,000.00;
b) Special danages in teh sum of $10,000.00;
c) Such further and other relief as this Honourable Court may deem just.
^^^^ those are just a few.
Negligence includes:
a) Failure to maintain premises in a safe mannor;
b) Failure to provide warning that there may be danger;
c) Failure to keep subject area clear of ice, snow and slippery material.
^^^^ Those are just a few.

My side of the story............
It was Friday March 3rd. There was an icestorm this evening. The time was between 10:30-11:30 PM. He left work with out punching out, snuck off to see his girlfriend/my neighbour.
He left her house walked across my lawn and jumped over my garden. Fell and broke his right ankle.
WHAT WAS HE DOING AT MY HOUSE? I didn't talk to this middle aged man in months and now he is an unexpected guest on my door step with a broken foot? SO? Should I get out of bed to salt the area incase an unexpected guest decides to cut across my lawn and jump my garden. Not to mention he was wearing beat up old running shoes with no track left on the bottom.
While he was on my porch he made a phone call to work, asking someone else to punch him out. Then I go to get his girlfriend and she had no idea he even went outside, to say the least I guess that means she had no idea wtf he was going on my porch.

That's ****' ridiculous. I don't jump out in front of highways and ask for reparations when I get my **** run over by an onslaught of cars. If it's winter and its night, **** off. It's **** like these guys that make warning labels necessary NOT TO **** SWALLOW LEGOS or some retarded ****.
Oh yeah, and let's sue McDonald's 'cause the hot coffee was hot.
I hate idiots. Take a shotgun to the court and blast his head off. Give them a reason to bring you to court. Er... in my darkest of fantasies anywho.

That sucks.
At least if it's anything like here he'll have to pay your court costs when he loses.
PS. I would highly advise not talking about the case in public at all until it's over. Because they say that on TV programs.

ppl get sued by stupid things. i heard that one lady was driving a car with a cup of hot liqud from some idk(dunkindonuts or wtf else idk) she split the liquid on her slef and actually sued the "idk store". guess what? she won. roflmao
ps. heard it from the teacher.

Wicket, yeah it is. They made the coffee hot, it was just made. The cup didn't say 'hot coffee' and when she was driving down the road she either hit a bump and it spilled on her, or she hit the brakes and it spilled on her. Either way she got burned and she made millions off McDonalds because they didn't label their coffee cups 'hot.'
Val, sry to hear that ****. People are **** stupid, just be glad you had insurance.. or else you'd be ****. I hope the guy trips in his lawn and breaks his neck... he can't sue himself. :p

Yeah seriously, I didn't think about that owner. Val, you should've just shot him. He was tresspassing, its easier to say he was attacking you then to get sued by him for that bullshit. Just a thought.
